At this event we will discuss diagnostic Challenges of Hemophilia A, VWD, & Iron deficiency: Hidden Figures – Accurate diagnosis of hemophilia A, von Willebrand Disease (VWD), or iron deficiency can be challenging. Women, in particular, often experience difficulties and delays in diagnosis. Presence of symptoms, Factor 8 (F8) and von Willebrand Factor (VWF) variant type, measurement of factor plasma levels, as well as assessment of iron deficiency are all impacted by multiple variables and an absence of definitive diagnostic ranges. For this reason, accurate diagnosis of hemophilia A, VWD, and iron deficiency requires a multifaceted approach – one that may include clinical history, family history, labs, and genotype analysis.
