Brandee Cookston
Associate Director & Co-Founder
Brandee has over 25 years of personal experience with von Willebrand disease (vWD). Diagnosed herself, she became active in advocacy after hearing many stories of women facing challenges in getting diagnosed and treated for bleeding disorders.
She co-created Sisterhood for Women Who Bleed, alongside Stormy, a community on Facebook and Instagram where women can share experiences, ask questions, and support one another. The group focuses on education, connection, and raising awareness.
Brandee also participates in various advisory boards and community initiatives aimed at improving care and recognition for women with bleeding disorders. She remains committed to helping ensure these women are understood and supported.
